	19.08	Belarus Foreign Minister Sergei Martynov met with head of the OSCE ODIHR Mission Geert-Hinrich Ahrens On 11 August 2008, Belarus Foreign Minister Sergei Martynov met with head of the OSCE ODIHR Election Monitoring Mission Geert-Hinrich Ahrens.
	19.08	Belarus Foreign Ministry promises comprehensive assistance to international observers The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus will do its best to assist international observers with their monitoring of this year’s parliamentary elections in line with national laws, Foreign Minister of Belarus Sergei Martynov said as he met with Nauryz Aidarov, head of the CIS mission sent to monitor elections to the House of Representatives of the National Assembly, on August 11.

The press service of the President said the discussion touched upon existing issues in the main vectors of the foreign policy.
	18.08	Belarusian Prime Minister met with his Russian counterpart Belarus will send humanitarian aid to the people of South Ossetia affected by the military conflict, Belarusian Prime Minister Sergei Sidorsky said at the meeting with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on August 14. A special committee for the dispatch of the humanitarian aid has been set up in Belarus. A list of the items to be sent to South Ossetia has been agreed. It includes food and warm clothing. Sergei Sidorsky also noted that Belarus is ready to host two thousand Ossetian children for recuperation.
